Several weeks after the general elections, the Ablekuma North Constituency has been thrust into the spotlight as the parliamentary election result remains undeclared, leaving the area without representation in Ghana's 9th Parliament.
Both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have declared victory, creating a political deadlock that has escalated to the courts.
The NPP asserts that their candidate, Nana Akua Afriyie secured a clear victory in the December polls, citing results from the Electoral Commission.
However, the NDC strongly contests this, claiming that their candidate, Ewurabena Aubyn was legitimately elected.
