The Attorney General and Minister of Justice-designate, Dr , was vetted by the Appointments Committee of the Parliament of Ghana on Monday, January 13, 2024.

If approved, Dr Dominic Ayine, as the principal state prosecutor of the country, would take over the prosecution of all criminal cases started by his predecessor, Godfred Yeboah Dame.

Some of these cases involve key members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who were charged with crimes they were accused of during the first term of President , from 2013 to 2016.

Other cases involve the prosecution of some renowned Ghanaians for crimes they allegedly committed during the reign of former President Akufo-Addo.
