Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions have parted ways with head coach Ibrahim Tanko after three seasons.

The former Ghana international steps down, making way for German trainer Rainer Kraft, who returns to the club for a second stint.

In a statement, the club announced, "Accra Lions Football Club confirms that Ibrahim Tanko has mutually agreed with management to step aside to focus on other important projects." The statement also highlighted Rainer Kraft's previous success with the club: "Accra Lions earned promotion to the Ghana Premier League under Coach Rainer Kraft during his first tenure from 2019 to 2021.

He brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of our mission to nurture talent and compete at the highest level." Tanko guided Accra Lions to an impressive second-place finish in the Premier League last season.
