President John Dramani Mahama has given the firm assurance that his government would tackle corruption head-on irrespective of who is found culpable.

At the Christian National Thanksgiving Service in Accra on Sunday, President Mahama made a pledge to the clergy that he would lead a government that is transpar­ent, accountable and focused on justice and fairness. • President Mahama being prayed for by the clergy at the Christian National Thanksgiving Service "We'll strengthen the fight against corruption relentlessly, knowing that it undermines the very fabric of our society," he stated. "Any persons who find them­selves appointed to public office has to be made aware that they would be held to the highest ethi­cal and professional standards." The new administration, the President said would chart a new course to bring prosperity to the Ghanaian people. "So all those of you plying me with your CVs must know that it is not going to be an easy job.

It is not going to be business as usual. "We'll govern with the under­standing that we are stewards of the resources and the trust that is bestowed upon us by the sover­eign people of Ghana," he said.

He assured the 'Men of God' that he would be President for all irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation and urged that his assumption to the seat of government be seen as a moment for Ghana. "I stand here today as president to all of you, regardless of your political, ethnic or religious affilia­tion.
