President John Dramani Mahama is set to visit Bawku on Tuesday, January 14, as part of efforts to address the ongoing conflict in the area.

Although the primary agenda for the visit has not been disclosed, it aligns with the President's campaign promise to prioritize resolving the Bawku conflict if elected into office.

During the visit, President Mahama is expected to engage with the Bawku Naba, local leaders, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on pathways to restore peace and stability to the region.

The conflict in Bawku, which reignited in October, stems from a chieftaincy dispute after a rival Chief returned to the town following years of exile.
