A shocking scandal has unfolded in the Bosomefreho Constituency of the Ashanti Region, where over 5000 fertilizers meant to support farmers affected by the severe dry spell have gone missing.
The fertilizers, which were part of the NPP government's measures to mitigate the effects of the dry spell on farmers and the food system, were allegedly given to some members of the then-governing (NPP) in the constituency to be shared among farmers.
However, investigations by OTEC News Reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng revealed that the fertilizers never reached the intended beneficiaries.
Instead, some NPP stalwarts in the area sold part of the fertilizers, while the rest were looted by grassroots party members.
