Defence Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, has assured the parliamentary select committee on Defence that enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces will be merit-based and not for sale.
He made this known when he met with the select committee on Defence and interior.
Dr Omane Boamah is of the view that enlisting persons for the Armed Forces must be transparent and fair to allow Ghanaians interested in the forces the opportunity.
Making the meeting and the outcome known in a post shared via social media, Dr Omane Boamah indicated that "I emphasized that enlistment and recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces will be strictly merit-based, and not for sale.
