The Speaker of of Ghana, , has stated that one of his challenges in steering the affairs of the 9th will be getting the House to focus on national issues, considering the number of seats won by the Majority (NDC) Caucus. "I never take anything for granted because the large numbers we have coming from the NDC is also a challenge, and I should be able to get them to focus more on national interests.
The collective interests of all Ghanaians, whether you are NDC, NPP, PNC, or independent, that is what matters to me, and that will be a challenge," the Speaker told journalists on the sidelines of the 2025 presidential inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, January 7.

The NDC gained an overwhelming majority of seats in the 2024 parliamentary election, securing 183 seats as against the 88 currently held by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
