The National Honours and Awards Committee is a constitutional body responsible for conferring honours and awards on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to national development.
Since its inception in 1960, the Committee has recognised over 12,000 individuals, including politicians, entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and professionals, who have excelled in various fields.
The honours and awards, which include the Order of the Star of Ghana, the Republic Honour, and the National Awards, are bestowed upon individuals in recognition of their achievements, leadership, and services to the country.
The criteria for selection include outstanding contributions to national development, exceptional achievements in their field of endeavour, and selfless service to the community.
