The Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, Abena Osei Asare, has described the establishment of President-elect John Mahama's Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee as unlawful and unconstitutional.

Speaking during a thank-you tour in her constituency in the Eastern Region, the MP, who also serves as the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, questioned the rationale behind creating the five-member committee chaired by .

She argued that there are already existing state agencies mandated to handle corruption-related issues, making the creation of a parallel committee unnecessary.

She also raised concerns about how the (NDC) government intends to act on the findings of a committee that lacks legal backing, emphasizing that such efforts would have no enforceable impact.
