The Developer of the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project, Quarm LMI consortium, has clarified that the fire outbreak at the project site did not affect any of the housing units or documents relevant to the project.
The consortium says that as part of preparatory measures to develop the abandoned project, some labourers set up a fire to clear up some weedy sections of the site, which eventually caught up with its external warehouses made up of expired building equipment.
The Managing Director of Quarm LMI consortium, Kofi Adaboh Ofori Amanfo, addressing journalists during a tour of the project site by the Sector Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, on Wednesday, December 26, noted that: "So, I think yesterday around 1 o'clock, we had our labourers working on the campsite as you saw it when you came here.
So as we came here in November, we started trying to clear the campsite to get ready for actual development.
