Sammi Awuku, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Member of Parliament-elect for Akuapim North, has reflected on the party's shocking defeat in the December 7 elections with a mix of acceptance and resolve.
Speaking to Osei Bonsu on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen, Awuku did not shy away from addressing the scale of the loss, admitting, "We didn't expect to lose, especially by this margin; however, we must face reality and not live in denial." Despite his personal success in securing a parliamentary seat, Awuku's sentiments were far from celebratory.
He underscored the need for collective action to rebuild the party's fortunes. "Although I am going to Parliament, I am not happy about these developments.
But this is the time to work hard with the majority and support the leadership of the party to bounce back," he remarked, emphasizing teamwork over individual victories.
