In the 2024 general elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) improved their performance in eight out of the 47 constituencies in the Ashanti region.
The party won 697,076 votes minus Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the region.
The party's triubenjmph in key constituencies such as Adansi Asokwa, Adansi Akrofuom, Obuasi East and Ahafo Ano South East stands as a testament to the hard work, strategic planning, and effective leadership exhibited by regional party officials, particularly Augustus Nana Akwasi, the NDC's Regional Chairman, and his executives.
Previously, the NDC had four constituencies in Ashanti Region like Ejura Sekyeredumasi, New Edubiase, Sekyere Afram Plains and Asawase.
