President-elect has stressed the need for a seamless power transition under Ghana's Presidential Transition Act of 2012.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Joint Transition Team on Tuesday, December 12, 2024, in Accra he urged the team to work diligently within the prevailing economic constraints, emphasising patriotism and cooperation to uphold Ghana's democratic legacy. "Our country has done it once again despite the belief of naysayers and I believe that Ghana will continue to get it right when it matters the most.
Today we're here to inaugurate the Joint Transitional Team as required by law and I wish to congratulate the members who have been selected or nominated to serve on this Joint Transitional Team. "There's huge expectation that this Transitional Team will get its work right so that we have a seamless, smooth transition of power from one democratically elected government to another," he noted.
John Mahama acknowledged the outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his cooperation and early briefing on national security and economic matters.
