The Socialist Movement of Ghana (SMG) has extended its congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama following his victory in the 2024 general elections.
The SMG views Mahama's win as a clear indication of the Ghanaian people's desire for change from the existing political, economic, and social order that has contributed to the nation's under development and exploitation by neo-colonial forces.
Jean Mensa, the Chair of the Electoral Commission, officially declared Mahama the winner of the 2024 presidential elections on Monday, December 9, 2024.
In a statement, SMG General Secretary Kwasi Pratt Jnr expressed the organization's support for Mahama. "On behalf of the leadership and members of the Socialist Movement of Ghana (SMG), I extend warm congratulations to you on your decisive victory in the just-ended Presidential election," Pratt stated. 'Very soon we go pop champagne' - NDC supporters celebrate Mahama's victory "Your victory is undoubtedly an indication of the yearning of the people of Ghana for change from the political, economic, and social order responsible for our collective underdevelopment, misery, and exploitation by the predatory forces of neo-colonialism," he added.
