The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mohammed Haruna, has staunchly defended the government's record in the face of criticism about the state of Ghana's economy.

Speaking on Hot Edition on 3FM with Beatrice Adu, he rebutted claims of electoral desperation and accusations of neglecting the needs of Ghanaians.

Responding to allegations from the NDC that the government is hastily completing road projects on the eve of elections, Mr.

Haruna described the claims as "palpable falsehoods." He argued that the government's infrastructure development projects are part of ongoing efforts and not tied to election cycles. "Contracts are always in continuation.
