Community members of Gomoa Otaprow are threatening to boycott the December 7 elections over developmental issues.
According to members of the community, the lack of development can be attributed to the demarcation by the Local Government Ministry, which has placed them within the Agona West Municipality despite being a traditional Gomoa community.
According to the chiefs of the community, Nana Osompa Nyamekye II is extremely worried about the poor nature of the road leading to the community, as well as educational and health infrastructure and water challenges.
Though they have persistently demanded and served official notices to the Local Government Ministry and the Electoral Commission to re-demarcate the area and place the community under the Gomoa Central District, any positive outcome is yet to be achieved.
