The Vice President, , on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, unveiled Ghana's first fleet of battery-electric buses.

The introduction of the electric buses into Ghana's public sector forms part of a collaborative effort between Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) and the Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE) to provide a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to conventional transportation.

Commuters are expected to see fare reductions of up to 40-50% when they patronise the buses.
