The Minority Caucus in Parliament has urged Speaker Alban Bagbin to dismiss the recall request made by the Majority Members of Parliament.
A November 22 memo by the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, initiated the recall processes following the indefinite adjournment of Parliament on November 7, when Speaker Bagbin suspended proceedings due to the absence of a prepared agenda from the Business Committee.
But a counter memo dated November 25 addressed to the Speaker of Parliament by the Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, argued that the Majority's recall request failed to satisfy the constitutional and procedural requirements stipulated in Article 112 (3) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and Order 53(1) of the Standing Orders of Parliament.
The Minority added that the proposed recall dates of November 28 and 29 are "ill-fated and ill-timed recall.
