The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has urged Ghanaians to cultivate good thoughts from all directions to foster and strengthen democratic values.
He made the call during an address to Ghana's Parliament on July 3, 2025, as part of his official state visit to the country. "In order for everyone to enjoy good democracy, it is required from all to have good thoughts from all directions to enhance democracy," he said.
He emphasised that democracy thrives not just on institutions, but also on the mindset and values of citizens, adding that embracing diverse and positive perspectives can enrich national discourse and governance.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Ghana on July 2, 2025, for a high-level diplomatic engagement, the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister in three decades.
