The has announced the arrest of Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a presenter of Wontumi Radio/TV, over his claim that the upcoming 2024 presidential election would be held on different days.

In a statement shared on social media, the police indicated that Nana Asiedu, an aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), was arrested for the publication of false news. "The has today, November 23, 2024, arrested suspect Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a Kumasi-based radio and television presenter, for offences including publication of false news contrary to Section 208 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). "The suspect is currently in police custody, and the case will be presented before the court for him to face justice," the police wrote.

The police earlier invited the presenter over the comments he made.

Oheneba Nana Asiedu claimed that the upcoming general election, the presidential election in particular, would be held on different days.
