Dr Sharif Mahmud Khalid, a member of the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) Economic and Finance Committee, has criticised the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)-led government for hastily inaugurating infrastructure projects such as the Bank of Ghana's new head office and the Flower Pot Interchange.

He described such inaugurations as "panic response" to the NDC's growing influence and effective campaign messaging to Ghanaians.

According to Dr Khalid, the recent surge in project inaugurations across the country reflects the NPP's desperation to counter the NDC's positive reception among Ghanaians.

Dr Khalid, in an interview on The Big Issue on Channel One TV, claimed the projects were rushed to completion despite being far from finished.
