The Suntaa Youth Group, a prominent NDC youth wing in Wa Central Constituency of the Upper West Region, has withdrawn support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s Parliamentary Candidate, Dr Hassan Rashid Pelpuo.

Citing consistent unfulfilled promises, the group said it now backs the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Hajia Humu Awudu, and will be voting "skirt and blouse".

With barely two weeks to the December election, the youth group numbering over 20 said, "We have long championed progress, equity, and empowerment, but our candidate's [Rashid Pelpuo] failures left us no choice".

Speaking at a press conference organised by the group on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Wa, the group stated: "We the Suntaa Youth Group of the NDC in Wa Central Constituency, have today announced our decision to withdraw our support for the incumbent MP, Dr Rashid Pelpuo, and instead endorse Hajia Humu Awudu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Parliament."
