Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demonstrated how the Chief Justice(CJ), Gertrude Torkonoo and the Supreme Court Judges erred in their ruling on October 30, 2024, after dismissing an application by the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin.

During a panel discussion on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Sammy Gyamfi with a copy of the court circular stated emphatically that the Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkonoo lied in her ruling.

According to the legal practitioner, the circular which was read by the Chief Justice says that "All Court processes should be served on the Legal Department of the Parliament Service on Mondays and during working hours". "However, when the Chief Justice was giving her ruling, she erred by saying that the Speaker of Parliament was to be served personally only on Mondays and the legal departments on any other day; a contradictory statement by the Chief Justice", he recounted Sammy Gyamfi believes that the Chief Justice was in a haste to dismiss the application reason for the contradictory stance "Where in this column, row or circular is it written that the speaker can be served personally on only Mondays but for the legal department any other days.

They were just in a haste to dismiss the application", Sammy Gyamfi stated. "Why will a woman who is a Chief Justice alter this document herself?
