Tema Central Member of Parliament, Charles Forson, has appealed to striking nurses and midwives to return to work while negotiations with the government continue.
This comes in the wake of the ongoing industrial action by members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), who say they have not received any official notice of the court injunction secured by the National Labour Commission (NLC) to halt the strike.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom with Charles Owusu Kumi on Saturday, June 7, Forson urged the striking health workers to consider the impact of their action on patients' lives.
While acknowledging the legitimacy of their concerns, Forson emphasised the need to prioritise public health and safety as negotiations continue. "I will appeal to the nurses to put a human face to it and then, if possible, they should go back to work and while they continue with the negotiations.
