The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced that it has suspended the printing of ballot papers for the 2024 elections.
The printing, which according to the EC is in its final stages, has had to be suspended due to the death of Akua Donkor, who was contesting in the 2024 elections.
A statement from the Commission said the constitution does not provide for processes to take place upon the death of a presidential candidate.
However, the Commission has given them a period of ten days to nominate a candidate for the 2024 election and inform them as soon as possible.
