The running mate to the flag bearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Kwabena Agyekum Appiah Kubi, popularly known as 'Roman Fada', has spoken on the death of the Madam Akua Donkor"She has not been well for the past few days so we sent her to the Nsawam Government Hospital on Saturday.

But she was not getting better so on Sunday I was called and told she is being taken to the Ridge Hospital on Monday dawn around 1am. "So, yesterday in the afternoon, the family called and told me that she couldn't make.  She was 83 years," he disclosed on Onua TV's morning show, Maakye Tuesday, October 29.She died at Ridge Hospital in Accra on Monday, October 28.The news was confirmed by broadcast journalist Adakabre Frimpong Manso on TV3's New Day show on Tuesday October 29."Last night I was called to Ridge hospital, flanked by her daughter and relatives, running mate Appia Kubi, I saw Akua Donkor's body at the ICU around 11 PM, she had passed on," Adakabre said.Akua Donkor ran for the presidency several times.She placed third on the ballot paper for the 2024 presidential race.The late GFP leader began her presidential aspirations when she was elected as the Assemblywoman for Herman.

Her first attempt at the presidency came in 2012 when she applied to run as an independent candidate.
