Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured that he would prioritise investments in the agric sector of the economy if he becomes president. He states that investment in the agricultural sector will be backed by data.He said this in a Facebook post after his campaign tour of the Volta Region in the Ketu North, Ketu South, Akatsi South, and Central Tongu Constituencies on Wednesday, October 23."As indicated in my Manifesto, a major focus of a Bawumia Presidency will be agriculture, justified by data which indicates about 60% of Ghanaians are engaged in that vital endeavour," he wrote.Apart from establishing District Agric Mechanization Centres across the country, he added "we will also facilitate the setting up of area-appropriate factories to add value and reduce post-harvest losses arising from a glut in production.
Together, we can make this possible. "In a separate post, he said "I envision a modern, transformed Ghana anchored on bold new ideas and grounded in our collective efforts.
A Ghana revolutionalized through innovations in Education, Agriculture, Health, Business, Human Resource Development, and many more."
