Ghana's push for economic transformation through strategic diplomacy is yielding promising outcomes, according to Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the legislator revealed that his recent diplomatic mission to China included discussions with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co.
Ltd. (GAC), one of the world's leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers.
The talks, he said, ended with the company expressing "favorable consideration" to establish an EV manufacturing plant in Ghana. "Our vigorous pursuit of economic diplomacy is producing fantastic results," Ablakwa noted. "On my recent visit to China, GAC - a leading electric vehicle manufacturer - agreed to give favorable consideration of Ghana for the establishment of an EV manufacturing plant." Ablakwa emphasized the significance of this potential partnership, highlighting China's leadership in the global EV space. "China is the global leader in EV manufacturing, with 7 of the 10 leading EV brands located in China.
