A Medical Doctor and Toxicologist, Dr.
Bright Boafo Boamah, has disclosed that the combination of the heavy metals used to destroy the lands has made it difficult to predict the effects of galamsey.
Speaking on Joy News news analysis programme Newsfle, the Toxicologist stated that the combination of these heavy metals gives different and mixed reactions and side effects hence it makes it difficult to pinpoint the result of the combination of these chemicals.
According to him, aside from the heavy metals like Mercury and Cyanide being used for galamsey, the chanffans used on the water releases into the water bodies petroleum since the machine makes use of petroleum to function.
