Lil Wayne was facing up to 10 years behind bars with his sentence due to be announced on January 28.
He was charged with one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition during an incident on Dec. 23, 2019, at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.
Lil Wayne is however not facing the sentence any longer as Donald Trump granted him a full presidential pardon before he left office to pave way for Joe Biden who won the December Polls after a keenly contested race where Trump felt he won but was cheated.
Lil Wayne took to Twitter to thank Trump for giving him another chance to contribute to his family and the community.
He wrote; “I want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community.
I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me.
Love! – Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.”
