Dubai airport re-opens after flooding

The world’s second-busiest airport, the Dubai airport has re-opened for operations following recent rain storms and flood.

The authorities at the airport announced on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that they have started receiving inbound flights at Terminal 1, used by foreign carriers, but outbound flights continue to be delayed.

Despite the improvement in circumstances at the airport, airport officials warned that a large number of travellers were waiting to check in and long delays are to be expected.

On the same social media platform, the officials urged people to go to the airport only if they have confirmed bookings.

The head of Dubai airport, Paul Griffiths, said: “It remains an incredibly challenging time.
