SOTN2020: Nana Konadu ‘caught’ singing ‘All for You’ with Majority in Parliament

The incidence of Minority members staging a boycott right before President Akufo-Addo could deliver this year’s State of The Nation message received a mixed reaction from politicians and Ghanaians alike, with their action exploding on social media.

An interesting scene captured by GhanaWeb’s cameras involved amiable wife of former President Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman.

The former First Lady clad in a beautiful red floral dress patched with white, black and green elements with a matching green turban, was seated between former President John Agyekum Kufuor and her husband, Mr. Rawlings.

As members of the Majority sang heartily a chorus of their rendition of “All for you”, after the exit of their counterparts on the other side, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who seemed caught up in the moment was seen singing the lines, “Nana All for You”.

She, however, covered her mouth amidst laughter probably after taking cognisance of her environment.

Former President Rawlings also appeared amused by the actions of the legislators as he was seen nodding and smiling.

The members of the Majority in Parliament occupied the seats of the Minority after the latter unanimously decided to boycott the State of the Nation Address by President Akufo-Addo at the House.

Their action took place right after the House stood to sing the National Anthem.

They moved out repeating a part of the anthem that says 'and help us to resist oppressors’ rule with all our will and might forevermore'.

Members of the majority side sent off their colleagues with chants of 'away' as well as 'bye-bye'.

The members of the minority side earlier expressed frustration about the delay of their share of the Common Fund for the third quarter of 2019, as they say, it is delaying the execution of projects in their constituencies.
