Article The High Court has dismissed a petition seeking to compel the government to enforce stricter regulation of commercial motorcycle operators, popularly known as boda bodas, saying the case lacked the precision required in constitutional matters.

The lawyer had asked the court to order NTSA and county governments to establish a comprehensive rider registration and identification system within 90 days, create a central digital database linking riders to motorcycles, require visible identification on helmets and jackets, develop police response protocols for motorcycle-related accidents and mob attacks, and compel the Transport Ministry to fast-track legislation regulating the boda boda sector.

The county maintained that it had undertaken continuous enforcement, training and public awareness campaigns and argued that the petition ignored the constitutional limits of county authority.
