Hearts of Oak assistant coach Abdul Bashiru rues missed opportunities in narrow loss to Accra Lions

Following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak assistant coach, Abdul Bashir, expressed frustration over missed chances during Wednesday afternoon’s clash.

In an interview with StarTimes post-game, Bashir lamented his team’s inability to convert numerous opportunities created throughout the match.

“We started so well.

We tried and tried and tried but they defended so well and their goalkeeper did very well.

Despite their efforts, Bashir acknowledged Accra Lions’ resilient defense and the standout performance of their goalkeeper, attributing their defeat to the opponent’s ability to capitalize on a single chance.

“There are a lot of chances and we should have punished them.

Just that they took their chance and scored a goal, that’s the difference,” coach Abdul Bashir said.

Reflecting on the match, Bashir stressed the need for his team to capitalize on scoring opportunities, reassuring fans of their dedication to bounce back in the upcoming fixture against Berekum Chelsea, urging them to continue supporting the team through their challenges.
