Champions League draw: Chelsea handed Real Madrid as Man City meet Bayern Munich in quarter-final

For the third year in a row, Chelsea and Real Madrid will face off in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

However, Chelsea managed to wipe out the advantage with three goals in Spain before ultimately falling to a 5-4 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid, who went on to win the tournament.

In 2020/21, Chelsea overcame Real Madrid in the semi-finals before lifting the trophy by defeating Manchester City.

Real Madrid, 14-time European champions, secured their place in this year’s quarter-finals by defeating Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Manchester City will face Pep Guardiola’s former team and reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals

The semi-finals winners will face each other in the Istanbul showpiece on June 10.
