Young Positivist writes : Waste trafficking in Ghana 

Folks, in a conscious and deliberate effort to raise awareness of climate change and its devastating effects on humans, I have decided to discuss one critical issue that harms our health, environment, and all aspects of our existence: waste trafficking in Ghana and its hazardous effects.

Criminal actors exploit loopholes in international waste regulations, often disguising hazardous waste as legitimate exports or second-hand goods (Obroni waawu, popularly known in Ghana).

The Bamako Convention, which was established in the early 1990s and entered into force in the late 1990s, is a treaty among African nations that completely bans the import of hazardous and radioactive waste into the African continent and strictly regulates the transboundary movement and management of these wastes within Africa.
