UNDP, EPA push for gender mainstreaming in Ghana’s cooling sector 

Mr Amankwa said hence, UNDP and EPA, through the National Ozone Unit, engaged a consultant to undertake a comprehensive gender analysis and develop a draft Gender Equality Strategy, to guide the mainstreaming of gender considerations into the Sustainable Cooling implementation efforts.

Dr Abdul-razak Saeed, the Head of Environment and Climate, UNDP Ghana, at a Stakeholder Validation Workshop on the Gender Equality Strategy for RAC sector, noted that as demand for cooling services continued to rise, opportunities in the sector had not been equally accessible.“Bridging this gender gap is not only a matter of fairness; it is essential to national development, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG) on Gender Equality, and to realise the full potential of our climate action ambitions under the Goal 13,” he stated.
