Ross Owusu dismisses AG’s flight-risk argument against Wontumi

Lawyer and NPP Legal Directorate member, Ross Owusu, has dismissed the Attorney-General’s argument that convicted NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, could be a flight risk if granted bail.

Owusu further alleged that the Attorney-General was relying on the flight-risk argument because the bail application had a strong chance of succeeding.” He described the flight-risk argument as the “weakest argument” the state could make against Wontumi’s release, arguing that Wontumi remained in Ghana and went through the trial process.
