Reshuffle at National Security: Presidency announces six new appointments

According to the statement, the following appointments and reassignments have been approved as part of the reorganisation of the NSCS:Major General (Rtd) William Ayamdo, a former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator (Operations); Mr Yaw Donkor, a former National Security Coordinator, has been appointed Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor; Mr Adamu Saaka has been appointed Director of Logistics and Transport; Ms Faustina Effah-Boadi has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department;DCOP (Rtd) Peter Ndekugri has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit; and ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.

The reorganisation comes about four months after President Mahama signed the Security and Intelligence Agencies Act, 2026 (Act 1168) into law, which restructured the country's security governance framework and abolished the Office of the Minister of National Security.
