Probe reported GH¢22bn gold losses now, not after 2029 – Bernard Owiredu Donkor

He called on both the government and the opposition to support a transparent probe into the reported GH¢22 billion losses, with the investigation covering the entire gold value chain as well as the roles played by the Bank of Ghana and other institutions involved in the gold purchasing programme.

Lawyer and Member of NPP Communications Team Bernard Owiredu Donkor has called for a bipartisan probe into the reported GH¢22 billion losses associated with Ghana’s gold purchasing operations, saying a comprehensive investigation is needed to establish the facts and ensure accountability.

Speaking at JoyFM Super Morning Show on Wednesday, August 19, he stressed that the investigation must cover the entire gold purchasing process, from the point where the gold is sourced through the various buying centres and ultimately to the Bank of Ghana.
