Political parties, judiciary need reforms to protect African democracy — Asiedu Nketiah

According to him, when political parties respect constitutional limits, courts administer justice fairly, governments deliver development and citizens remain engaged beyond elections, democracy can evolve into a durable system of public trust, peaceful competition and accountable governance.

He said respect for judicial decisions does not prevent political actors from criticising judicial reasoning, noting that legitimate criticism is part of constitutional democracy, while intimidation and threats are unacceptable.

Asiedu Nketiah also stressed the importance of an independent and credible judiciary in resolving political disputes and protecting constitutional democracy.
