NPP’s Grace Amoabeng questions Wontumi’s flight risk status, defends his right to pursue legal options

The communications team member of the New Patriotic Party, Grace Akosua Amoabeng, has questioned the basis for treating former NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, as a flight risk amid his ongoing legal proceedings.

She maintained that the mere fact that Wontumi is facing legal proceedings should not, in itself, be sufficient grounds to presume that he poses a flight risk.“Wontumi had not indicated that he was ill and needed to travel outside the country, unlike some previous cases where individuals facing legal proceedings had sought permission to travel for medical reason” she stated.
