The New Patriotic Party-USA (NPP-USA) has welcomed the Supreme Court’s 5–2 ruling affirming the right of every registered party member in good standing to vote in internal party elections, describing the decision as a significant development for Ghana’s democratic system.

According to NPP-USA, Ghana should therefore begin a national conversation on public financing of political parties, arguing that “healthy political parties are a public good” and that the state has a role to play in supporting the democratic process.
