NPP constituency primaries: Annulment of initial election was unnecessary, but party decision must stand – Bantama MP

Speaking to JoyNews after casting his ballot in the re-run election at the Kumasi Cultural Centre, the MP said he did not see the need for the NPP’s National Steering Committee to take such a decision, adding that the process of the initial election was transparent.

Background The re-run comes after the NPP’s National Steering Committee annulled the initial poll held on July 11, citing breaches of party directives, electoral regulations, and in some cases, existing court orders.“Even though I am disappointed, I am also in support of the re-run of the election since it is the party’s decision to re-conduct the election,” he noted.
