NPP challenges Sam George over rural telephony record, demands data

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the NPP Policy Co-ordination Committee, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the party said the Ghana Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project was launched in 2020, contrary to claims suggesting it began in 2022.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has challenged claims about the state of Ghana’s rural telephony programme under previous administrations.“Our interest is a working rural network,” the party said, adding that rural communities were entitled to both telecommunications service and a clear account of when they would receive it.
