The initiative, launched by President John Dramani Mahama at Dodowa on April 15, is designed to complement the National Health Insurance Scheme by focusing on disease prevention and early detection, while the NHIS continues to finance treatment and hospital-based care.

Dr Bampoe commended the officers for their contribution, saying: “These officers have made important contributions to the successful establishment of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.

It covers services including health screenings, maternal and child healthcare, immunisations, treatment of common illnesses and public health education.
