NHF proposes housing levy on building materials to finance affordable housing  

Mr Hoetu said the levy could help address challenges in the housing sector, including inadequate infrastructure, limited private-sector investment and restricted access to affordable housing finance.

Mr Prosper Hoetu, Chief Executive Officer of NHF, said the proposed housing development levy would provide Government with dedicated funding to expand investment in affordable housing and improve access to housing finance.

He said addressing the housing deficit required innovative financing models and stronger partnerships among government, the private sector, development partners and communities.
