NDC needs strong leadership to succeed Mahama in 2028 – Agbey

James Agbey is an operative of National Democratic Congress An operative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), James Agbey, has called on potential presidential aspirants within the party to openly declare their intentions ahead of the 2028 presidential election.

In a public statement issued on Monday, September 7, 2026, Agbey said President John Dramani Mahama’s indication that he would not seek a third term should encourage potential successors to begin making their cases to party members and the wider public.

Agbey argued that potential successors should not wait until the last minute to enter the contest, warning that a delayed nomination process could create unnecessary tensions within the party.
