National Theatre calls for investment in performing arts

Mr Malm made the call at an open-air concert by the National Symphony Orchestra to mark International Music Day at the forecourt of the National Theatre in Accra last Thursday.
Mr Malm said the National Symphony Orchestra was established under the vision of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, to blend Western symphonic structures with African rhythms and promote Ghanaian musical identity.
The Executive Director of the National Theatre of Ghana, Henry Herbert Malm, has called on corporate institutions to invest in the performing arts to promote cultural preservation, create jobs and unlock commercial opportunities in the creative industry.
